Web Design FAQs

Below are answers to some of the questions about website design that I'm asked frequently. If you don't find an answer to your question please contact me and I'll get an answer back to you.

  • Do I have to submit all the content before you can begin the design process? It is preferred to have all the content submitted before the design process. You can submit additional content later but be advised that the new content can cause a re-design if the site is not properly structured to handle the new content.
  • Can you get the content from my existing site? We can get the content from an existing site provided that you can provide a username and password to the old site.
  • How can I submit the content? Content can be submitted through e-mail or on a CD and mailed to us. Please note that we will not return the CD. All content must be in electronic format or there will be an extra charge related to converting it to electronic format.
  • How can I get a quote on my project? You can use the Custom Design Quote form to submit your ideas. We will get back to you within 2 working days with a quote.
  • Can I get images for my site or add photographs? You can submit images and photographs through e-mail or on a CD (we will not return the CD). If you prefer to select the images or photographs there are many stock image providers available on the internet. A couple inexpensive options are iStockphoto.com and BigStockPhoto.com. You may also want to try gettyimages.com.
  • Can I view the site as you are building it? Yes. Your site will be put on a temporary sub-domain that you can access until it is ready to go live.
  • How long does it take to get a new web site running? Normally, it will take 2 weeks but it is dependent on the complexity of the information and how complicated the design.
  • Will I be able to edit my files after the site is available? You can edit your files with many different applications available for managing content. See the webmaster resource section for tools.
