Email Services and Spam Filtering

Increasingly, ISPs are using filtering systems to try to keep spam out of their customers' mail boxes. Occasionally, they accidentally filter the e-mail that you want to receive. To make sure that newsletters, e-mail courses and support e-mails are not filtered into your "junk" or "bulk" folder, add the email address to your list of trusted senders.

Here are some directions for popular email services:

hotmail whitelist instructions Hotmail: Place the domain name (i.e., orangetreeweb.com) in your safe list. The safe list can be accessed via the "Options" link next to the main menu tabs.
aol whitelist instructions AOL: Place the domain name (i.e., orangetreeweb.com) in your address book.
yahoo whitelist instructions Yahoo! Mail: If email is filtered to your 'bulk' folder, open the message and click on the "Not Spam" link next to the "From" field. You should check the 'bulk' folder periodically to make sure you are receiving all of your email.
All Other Providers:

If one of your newsletters is being filtered, try adding the domain name (i.e., orangetreeweb.com) or the newsletter's 'From' or 'Reply-to' address to your address book or contact list. If this is not an option, try moving the message to your 'inbox' or forwarding the message to yourself. If subsequent messages continue to be filtered, call or e-mail your ISP's tech support and specifically ask how you can be sure to receive all e-mail from the domain. Follow their instructions for "whitelisting" the sender.

We all need to fully support the anti-spam measures of mail servers and ISPs.
