Graphics Tools

If you are a web designer you already know how important it is to have a graphics tool as part of your skill set. From creating header graphics for pages to creating special effects for photos, mastering a graphics application is an essential skill.

I currently have a few different graphic tools that I use everyday: one that I use for just about everything related to web development, and a few specialized graphic tools that I use for developing things like logos. Specialized graphic tools provide the option of taking pre-defined graphics and either combining them in different ways to produce new graphics or selecting elements to combine in order to produce logos. The graphics tools presented here are the ones I've found to be the most useful with my projects.

• Paintshop Pro - I've used PSP since it appeared many years ago as freeware and I've been able to watch it grow into the powerhouse tool that it is today. I was disappointed to watch such a great tool be sold out to Corel. I've downloaded and tested version 10 and version 11 from Corel and was disappointed with what they had done to the product -- not to mention the introduction of frequent crashes of the application. I'll be sticking with version 9.
