DNS SettingsIf you have purchased your domain name you should have received login instructions from the registrar. Getting your domain name is the first step, but if you are not hosting your web site with your registrar you will need to update your DNS settings. For information about DNS, visit How the DNS System Works. Basically, you will be letting the world know how to get to your web site by updating your DNS settings. Follow these steps to set your DNS settings to the Orange Tree servers: 1. Login to your domain manager. 2. Find the Domain Management page. Typically this will be a list all of your registered domain names. 3. Click the check box beside the domain name and locate and click the "Name Servers" option (at the top of the list if you are using the Godaddy domain manager). 4. On the Default Namer Servers tab, click the "Custom" radio button. 5. Click the Custom Name Servers tab and enter the following information:
6. Find and click the "OK" button to save your changes. You can logout of your domain name manager. It can take as long as 24 hours for your new domain name to start working. You will know it is working ok when you enter your domain name into a browser and reach a blue page that says "This domain will be available soon...". If you do not reach this page within a reasonable amount of time, please contact us because something is not setup correctly.
