Project CraftsJunction - Project Description and Overview

The CraftsJunction web site was a fairly simple site to put together. I love making things and I wanted to put together a site about crafts and to use it to play with ranking and AdSense. It's too early to tell if it ranks ok because it can take months for Google to get the pages ranked and I really don't have enough time to invest into it that I should but it does make a little money from the AdSense ads.

I started this project with a pre-designed AdSense template that I purchased for something like $5.00 from KnowItAllAffiliates. Mostly I was interested in the content that came with the template rather than the template itself.

Currently the site is in its third version and was recently redesigned again to make it more colorful and to optimize the pages for some specific keywords and phrases. I also wanted to add the code from the Amazon Project for a crafts store to the site so people interested in crafts would have a resource for supplies.

One of the hot issues you hear about in the affiliate marketing world today is "building your list", so I did a little research into auto responders (which I'll post in the reviews section and the tutorials section soon). I choose to go with a relatively cheap but really quite powerful autoresponder for collecting email addresses from people interested in crafts.

It has been a really fun project to complete and it distracted me long enough that I could get back to some "real" work. It will be interesting to see in the coming months how it starts to rank with the keywords and phrases that I've chosen.
