Using a Keyword Domain Name Search Tool can Save Many Hours of Manual Work
When I'm researching the development of a new web site, I first spend some time researching keywords and phrases that people use to find products or services that are related to the purpose and goals of the site. Any first year SEO student should know that before any money is spent building a site there are two essential questions that should be answered.
- Do the keywords and phrases that people use to find these services generate enough traffic to support an online business?
- Is the market for the products and services already saturated such that it could take years before enough organic traffic was realized?
Assuming that the first two questions are answered in favor of building the new site and I decide to move forward with a new project, my third question is can I find a decent domain name such that my keyword is in the domain name? Why do I care? Because it is my belief that having your primary keyword in your domain name is beneficial. If that were not the case, why is it that when I search for products on Google, and the product name is in the Domain, it will be highlighted in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). Highlighting the keyword in the domain must have some significance.
Finding a domain name at Godaddy has always been a positive experience for me but I've often wished I could just paste a list of keywords and phrases into a search box, press submit, and have the site return a list of domain names that were available from which I could then register the ones I wanted if they were available. It is often a little more complicated than this because I also want to add hyphenated versions of the domain without having to edit my list. In addition, I would want to simply copy the list from a tool such as Google's External Keyword Tool and paste the list of keywords directly into the Keyword Domain Name Search Tool without the need to remove spaces from the keywords. So, I took a few days off to build this Domain Name Search by Keyword Tool and so far it has saved me countless hours trying to find a decent domain name.
