The Federal Trade Commission requires that relationships between service providers and product manufacturers be disclosed when writing about or recommending products or services. Here are the guidelines under which I work on this website:

When reviews of products or services are provided, my personal time is invested in reviewing products, or I personally own the product, or have paid for the product or service prior to writing a review or providing a recommendation. I do not receive any monetary consideration just for writing a review.

Many of the links I provide on this website are "affiliate" links — that is, I sign up as an affiliate to promote certain products and services, and the links I provide track site visitors to my site. If you choose to download, evaluate, buy or otherwise purchase the product, I may receive a commission for having provided the merchant a new customer.

Not all links provided on this website are "affiliate" links — that is, I do not receive any monetary compensation if you choose to follow the link from this website to the merchant. I provide these links because it is my belief that the product or service is simply worth recommending to my site visitors.

Advertising or affiliate links on this site are not provided simply to make money. Typically, I will purchase a product simply to determine if it is a worthy tool that I can use for my own business. If there is an affiliate relationship available from the merchant providing the product or service, I will provide an "affiliate" link to the product or service simply to help reclaim the money that I invested. I believe this to be ethically fair to my site visitors, and it allows me to continue investing in products or services that may be useful to my business. In doing so, my site visitors gain certain insight into products or services that may as well help them with their own businesses.

These are good rules and practices in today’s digital world, and it's important to understand the relationship of a person reviewing or recommending a product.
