WYSIWYG Editors

These editors are for those who do not like messing with the HTML code directly. You can build your page content as if you entering it directly into a browser. WYSIWYG editors display the text exactly how it will appear in a browser.

• Microsoft FrontPage - After nine years of service, FrontPage will be discontinued in late 2006 -- thank goodness for that. I've had to clean up so much code generated by this product that I'm really glad to see it go. Microsoft Front Page will be replaced with Office SharePoint Designer 2007 for the enterprise and Expression Web for the Web designer.

• Macromedia Dreamweaver - Industry-leading web development tool to efficiently design, develop and maintain standards-based websites and applications. This is my tool of choice.

• Macromedia Contribute - enables anyone to quickly update websites and blogs. With Contribute 4, content authors can post and publish content to multiple websites and blogs from a single application or publish directly from within Microsoft Office applications, even when multiple authors update content across the site.

• Adobe GoLive - software lets you use intuitive visual tools such as prebuilt CSS objects that you can drag and drop to build sites (also supports mobile devices).

• NetObjects Fusion - for a beginner or experienced Web developer, Fusion 9 provides all the tools you need to build, publish and maintain websites.

• Intellyweb - easy to use interface that makes it pretty easy for anyone to create web pages with no experience.
